So I get caught up on projects and decide to straighten out my 9K Daikin shutting down and displaying an L5 fault code.

6th step is check with inverter analyzer, RSUK0917C. To my recollection I do not ever recall having an inverter analyzer, to the best of my knowledge I have never known anyone who owns an inverter analyzer.

Any way to do this without an analizer?

With any brand of high efficiency equipment ( over 18 seer) especially vfr. Lap top with the correct program and cabling might be needed to look at all the inputs and outputs.
One temp sensor can screw everything. Sure that the program is proprietary and don't know about daikin but trane upgrades theirs all the time and training.

Thanks for the response. I intentionally stayed away from high seer and bought lowest which at the time was 15 seer. I live in a low cost electric area and the payback for high seer is many years!

Been mulling this over and the best I can come up with is switch the board with another unit and see if problem follows board.

Dang I miss the days when they used thermistors and all you had to do was cut it out or solder in a resistor.

Not that I have seen that thing on sale but it is what I have suspected, just a fancy voltage checker... UVW when U is powered, V or W will be ground, and V is powered, U/W will be ground... and so it cycles (which one is ground dependents on the rotation and the logic board.) This is the same as those inboard burshless dc motor or outboard brushless dc motor for drone drivers...... . Doesn't check anything other than presence of voltage I think.

maybe build your own? video is in Hindi, but you can probably just watch it and understand how that circuit works.

component checks out from other videos resistor is 12K ohm 5watt./3 watt... Brown red orange gold band (12K 5%) and cap is 103k 100V ? 1000V ? or above... which is 10000pf or 0.01uf ... same as the one in this video. Good luck don't have a inverter ac to play with. so. YMMV kinda thing with high voltage dc.

Thanks, switching the boards around seems easier.
