Daikin mini split trouble shooting

While I was replacing the coil in my 12K mini. My 9k Daikin mini started shutting down during the heat of the day and showing an L5 code. Unit has been working fine for 4 years. L5 is for the outside unit RXN09NMVJU and shows output overcurrent. I have the service manual for the unit, but it is written in Chinese algebra

Anyone have any insight into these units or know of a DIY friendly source of information?

It must be a common error because there are tons of YouTubes on it - just google

Daikin L5 Error

I build my own guitar pedals and have all the electronic tools I need, but that looks like a problematic repair just tearing the unit apart. Changing out the PCB board is easy, just remember the heat sink grease for the chips.

L5 is an error code across the Daikin line. So lots of info does not sync with mine or help me. I need Daikin L5 15 series for dummies. I have found one video on Samsung which may help me more than most of the Daikin ones I have found. But thanks.

Not home And no data to look up YouTube for you but these motors are just like the sensorless bldc motors. Except at higher dc voltage. That tester device look like a bunch of resistor and capacitors and leds arranged in a way that it will blink dependents how the 3 pin is powered. Maybe look up how to do an ohm test on the motor winding?

Thanks for the response. According to the service manual a defective motor should be showing an A5 code. Will cost nothing to check it the next time it shuts down. Now I have some free time to tinker with it and it is not shutting down!
