Daikin minisplit question

Our minisplit has a leak I need to track down. It was installed by our home builder and is now out of warranty (we had it serviced twice while in warranty due to leaks). I am going to track down the leak and have a buddy who can come fill it.

I know Daikin minisplits are inverter driven and supposed to be filled by weight. However, our builder installed a 4-zone outdoor unit without only 2 indoor units connected. The manual says the 4-zone outdoor unit should be charged to 6.1 lbs of R410a. A 2 zone outdoor unit only gets 3.75 lbs of refrigerant installed. Which number do we charge with since only 2 indoor units are attached to a 4 zone outdoor unit?

Charge it at 6.1lb. 4 zone unit would have a larger suction accumulator. These units are a critical charge and should be weight in. All eight flares need to be taken apart and looked at. This leak is small lose a pound and your short. After checking flares and good 500 micron or lower vacuum with the gauge connected let is set for 30 minutes see if it raises.then 400 lps nitrogen overnight to see if it drops. Another vacuum and charge.

Factory charge should be marked on the outdoor unit. The factory charge will cover it for X amount of line set, info on that should be in the install manual, any extra for longer line sets should be calculated with the info in the install manual.
