I was checking out Craigslist as always and saw a Dake No. 1 arbor press on there. I didn't really need it so I let it pass. No one picked it up and the seller reposted it a couple weeks later. I figured it was fate and I had to have it. I got it for $125, a little less than the asking price. This is pretty much the condition I got it in. It was missing shims behind the front cap and needed a tinner's rivet to make the brake work correctly. There's some red paint peeking out in a couple of spots.
It's a 3ton version with 11.5" max distance between the ram and table. Throat depth of 7".
I'm happy with it and it came in very useful pushing staples out of some used oak flooring I picked up for free soon after getting it.
Anyone know the approximate date of manufacture of it? I cannot read the serial number from the tag on the front.
I like it!
