Dake Model 1-1/2

New to me Dake Model 1-1/2 from CL. Way bigger a machine than i thought i was getting. Looks to be all there, but wasn't questioning at the price. I'll figure out later. I think the 1 1/2 is 3 ton, but the markings are confusing, 202, 2 1/2 P, 214.It was all i could handle to get it out of the truck alone, even with ramps. Let's just say waaay less than $1/ lb [emoji3] now to figure out what to press!

If you can find one around here, they don't go cheap. Even clapped out arbor presses are priced on a gold standard in this area. Nice find.

May be talking to myself here.

But, it looks like this may actually be a model 2 1/2 P, as cast into the main body of the press. I also learned that this is a "compound leverage ratcheting arbor press" (never heard of this), which I believe makes it a 12 ton press according to this video, 6 ton in normal configuration.

Still missing that pawl and pin, but hopefully can acquire it from Dake.

Probably not, once he found out the price for the parts were double what he paid for the press!

These are great little presses, I have one!

I made a replacement pawl for a Dake press I sold after finding out how much the part cost?

If the OP needs the drawing so he can make one of his own, I may still have it somewhere?

Yeah, parts are pricey, but at least they are still available. I'm restoring a Dake 1-1/2 right now. Fortunately it's in pretty good shape. The only things I need are shims and a new tinners rivet, which I can make myself.

Dake 2 1/2 P is a 6 ton press. Still made. Dake has a website.

Yes. I did acquire the parts from Dake. Good service from them, but pricey as i recall. However, still a great deal in the end for a serious tool

Glad to hear it. As expensive as they are new, its worth putting a little money into it.
