We bought this house 3 years ago and remodeled the inside completely. Now it's time to update the garage...my territory! My overall goal is to minimize the amount of stuff stored in the garage, making space to work on my projects, and park two cars. I'm planning to build new shelves, workbench, build a shed outside to store garden/bbq/outdoor stuff, and floors. Here goes another project...I hope I can finish it in one month.

Good plan, except for the 'store the bbq' part. That's weird to me since I use it frequently. Anyway, looks like your well on the way to having a functional garage space.

Sub'd. I love following these kinds of projects. Taking a standard residential garage and making it fit your needs is always a rewarding feat. South wall organization looks good.

Depends on what area of Dallas.... in the city, yeah, it is hard to find a large garage. Suburbs are a whole other story. Want to see where the "big" garages are... I can point you in the right direction.

I have a different types of bbq wood chips/chunks and charcoal that I want out of the garage. I stock on bbq items when I find a sale.

Made time to clean out the garage, sold a bunch of items
, and bought a HF 26" tool box. I'm really happy with the quality of the HF box.

Selling off items, or just getting rid of them is a nice feeling. Man, 3 years until you touched the garage! That must have been one hell of a remodel. Did you do the work yourself on the inside as well? I have a similar sized garage, with similar plans. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

The house was built in '78 and everything was original from the day it was built. It has great bones so we jump on it and changed almost everything out. I did some of the work myself and contracted the big jobs out. Took 3 years due to our budget. I'm glad I was able to selling some stuff to fund for the garage makeover.

Purging your space leads to success. Freeing up money and space will really help you get it organized the way you want. Keep it up!

Built a shelf system from scrap wood last weekend to organize liquid items. I will be putting a door on it this weekend.
