Damn rain

Got my new 30x40 garage on order from National Barn Company and just waiting on the concrete guy to pour the slab. Nothing but rain day after day here in East Tennessee. So this morning I called the concrete guy for an update. He says even if it stops raining he can't do anything until the ground hardens up without wrecking peoples yards & getting his trucks stuck. Says to call back next week sometime. I suppose it could be worse. I could still be in NH where construction shuts down for months and the ground freezes hard as a rock.

Boy, it all depends on your perspective. I could probably poll my neighbors and collect enough $$$ to order a 30x40 garage, if we knew it would bring rain like you're describing.

You should come live in central New York. I've seen several buildings collapse under the weight of snow.

Do wait until it dries out a little. I saw one of he HGTV prorgrams one time where they wore pouring the driveway on a $500,000 house and they were up to their knees in mud and pouring the concrete drive on top of that. I would hate to spend that much on a house to know they had done such shoddy work on it. I'm in Knoxville and have had a lot or rain here too this week.

Yea, the rain has been a real problem. You will be quite pleased with that National Barn pole building... I had mine constructed last year by them and am quite pleased with it

They came highly reccomended by another member here 64dragnwagn I believe is his username. They were easy to work with and after the initial quote I beat the sales manager up a bit on the phone and got him to throw in gable vents & scissor trusses at no extra cost. Then I found out they offered a Veterans discount and beat him up some more. I am very happy with where we ended up on the price.
