Danmar lift?

i have researched this 4 post lift thing for a year now. conclusion: i have ordered a Bandpak HD-9STX at the cost of $3,140/shipping included from CA. it is 24" longer and will lift 87" max as opposed to 74.5" which is standard for most lifts (i have 13' ceilings and am 6'3" so i want the extra height factor). i believe that a HD-9ST is around $2,600. there is NO comparsion in quality between BP and Danmar. please, i'm not bashing all the other China lifts because they work fine and are less expensive.
believe me, i did not want to spend over 3 grand on lifts (i have another to buy also) but in the end these lifts will be in the garage when i die. quality does not cost more - it just lasts longer. everyone "says" that a Lexus is just a more expensive Toyota, why spend the money? look at and drive both cars and you will understand why the Lexus is more expensive to purchase.
the extra money that i am spending now will seem insignifcant a year from now. all that i'm saying is that you should look at the big picture and not just the initial cost. FWIW. good luck....

I know the question was directed at Jimmie, but I also looked at both of these and selected the BendPak. For me, it was the fact that the BendPak was certified and has a backup latch system if a cable breaks. I also liked the "ladder" design (actually a long plate with holes cut in it) to engage the locks. The Danmar has tabs welded on the post to engage the locks.
I'm sure the Danmar is probably fine, but for a long term investment I decided to spend the extra money with the BendPak. And I'm normally cheap (and shop at Costco all the time). Just my 2 cents.

Both Bend Pak and Danmar are China right? Could you point out a couple of the details (other than the height advantage) that prompted you to select the Bend Pak? Thanks.
no, not even close, Bendpak is made in California. see prior post of TA. too many differences to go through but TA has given you the best reason. BP is HD (heavy duty). there have been many threads on the differences in these lifts.

I should add, even though the BendPak was made in China - I still think it's a quality lift.

no, not even close, Bendpak is made in California.
My BendPak (XPR9AC) is made in China. But...it's pretty beefy with quality welds. Love it.
