Dark cloud!

Here’s a question maybe someone can help me with. Living in central CA I am able to spend most of the year with the garage open, the only problem being having the garage open creates a dark spot in my garage as far as lighting goes seems somewhat like a “dark cloud” garage door sits about 8 foot above the floor and is around 10 foot wide. I am hoping someone has a creative idea for illuminating this area. I was thinking wall mounting some fluorescent fixtures on the wall vs the ceiling, but I don’t want to wear sunglasses when looking around. Hoping for some ideas. Thanks in advance .76aa7fcca8b8adfb0ee20af5e57117a7.jpg

Outstanding!!! Don’t know why I hadn’t thought of that? I think I did just wasn’t able to picture the hanging of the lights. Thanks !

I have a 4' HF LED fixture hanging across the middle section of one of my 8' doors (the one I open). And I have a retractable cord reel that provides power on the door (and reels in and out as the door is opened and closed).

This particular light is not only very bright, but is also VERY lightweight. At under 2 lbs, it doesn't affect my door's balance.

I scored some take out 2x4 LED panels, that gives me an idea of what to do with at least a couple LOL.

My lighting is great beneath the OH doors. It was inexpensive, easy to-do, and I was flexible-enough to understand I wasn't locked-into an original design I contemplated. I had already-bought the aluminum box extrusions to use instead of the 1" x 4" PT lumber, but once I took delivery of the COSTCO LED 4 ft 'double-bulb' luminaires, and saw how-lightweight they were, I shelved the aluminum extrusions for whatever-else.

I made-sure that the fasteners I used for the Simpson made-up brackets were low-profile heads, so they didn't run-afoul of the door track rollers. If I believed that two, four-foot LED luminaires per single-bay OH door wasn't sufficient, I could easily remove the lights and do the spacing at 3 ft apart instead of four feet apart. That would require purchase of two more luminaires, but for my comfort level of illumination, this spacing has proved sufficient. You could alter the pattern to suit your needs.

In my relatively brief time on GJ, I've benefited greatly from others' knowledge. Thinking that this has helped many others is a great payback.
