I do know the Hansen sockets are made in USA. I assume the HF are China.

i just keep all my sockets in a five gallon bucket
Here is a quick pic of my finished 3/4" socket racks modeled after the Hansen's. I spray painted them and then applied vinyl labels for the sizes. Just need to finish buying my SAE set now, lol
Good thread
I have some of the lowes version of socket organizers
I'm missing the 5/8 on the quarter inch drive
I wonder who actually makes this size socket and how smart is it to try to break loose a 5/8 head bolt with a quarter inch drive ratchet?

Can anyone tell what it is that you are actually purchasing in this link? I cannot see anything special?

I just ordered $50 worth of sockets of Mcmaster and I still need a few more, but I am close.
Of the socket?
10E864 it's not the highest of quality but I was only looking to fill the peg with a socket that I may never use.

Can you post up what brands you receive when you get them? read on here it varies, but usually always good quality. I'm just curious as i'll be ordering of few of the ones i need from mcmaster soon.

they are a mix of Armstrong and proto.

My set is complete
3/8 and 1/2 are 12 point and 1/4 is 6 point.

I was perfectly happy with my Lisle mag racks until I joined GJ.

That's simply beautiful!

Somewhat off topic, but has anyone seen these (or anything for that matter) for 3/4 drive? I got the 9 piece set from the Sears clearance, but can't find a tray of any sort to put them on. I have the rails for all my other sockets right now, but haven't had any luck finding a 3/4 drive organizer.
Thanks
I have all my Snap-on socket in the magnetic holders except my sets are so large that they don't all fit.
I have all my S-K socket in the Hansen holder and all the Craftsman in one of the carry plastic cases to take with me. I have other back up set.
My problem is that no one makes a holder for all the 32 od sockets I have all those in Craftsman and other brands. I even have the 32od's in deep and shallow. Whre to put that 25/32 or 15/32 socket drove me nuts for years.

Take the S-K off the Hansen holder and move them to the Snap On magnet holder. Then, move the CMan up to the S-K before taking the assorted CMan SHALLOW (only) and putting them to the left of the space for the 25/32. Take a 4" section of a 2x4 and using the proper hole cutter make a stand for the 15/32. Paint it gold. Throw away the plastic carry case. Line up all 6-pt. sockets from the left and the 12 pt. from the right. Close tool drawer and place a padlock on it. Throw away key.

Mine came in a metal box. I opened it up in my toolbox and put the ratchet on the other side.
I haven't seen anything commercial for 3/4 but I'm not in the business either. I think someone made one a while back and posted it. I don't remember if it was made out of metal or wood but I want to say wood. They drilled 3/4" diameter holes and labelled it like the Hansen holders. The advantage of making your own is that it's only as big as you need it and you don't have to go find those odd sizes that would fill the holes (or look at the empty spots).
Here's a link to the thread referenced above, I made these out of plywood and 3/4" hardwood dowels, if you're interested in buying a set send me a PM

Thanks to both! Mine didn't come with a box (but they were only $7 since they were "used")
