Bought my house a few years ago as a foreclosure. I'm four miles east of downtown Portland, and to find a house in the city with a shop like this is nearly impossible. In fact, I bought the house because of the shop, and now I am renovating the house from the ground up.

How did you do the wall art? Vinyl? Projected and 'traced' on the wall? You may have inspired my next project...

Wow! I didn't expect such a healthy response! Thanks to everyone for the compliments!

Do you just wiggle the cars around in the shop to get them on the lift?

Yeah, kinda. I installed the lift in the back so I could work on projects while still using the main part of the garage for parking. I think I might move the lift into one of the main bays in the future, to make it easier to throw cars up.

Went to Deviant Art to find some cool drawings I liked, the projected the art, penciled it in and then painted it. Made a timelapse... looks SO pro since you can't see the pencil lines haha!

Wow that looks awesome. How high are the eaves? What's the floorspace?

12' to the rafters, 25' deep and 35' wide. Not a giant shop, but makes a great man cave.

Wow, what an amazing difference. At first it looked just like an old house and shop, and now it looks like a new, modern place. Joining both, plus the color choices, doors, and landscaping make it look very very nice.

I would have done the same thing with the lift. wise choice to still utilize the garage for its intended purpose.

Very cool! That is a definite score for close in Southeast. I'm probably going to be buying and building a garage in Portland very soon so I'm excited to see other GarageJournalers in the area.

Nice place. I like the way the garage ties in with the house. The shop is good looking inside with your decor. It looks real comfortable to work in. Great bikes, cars and tools in your thread!! Thanks for posting.

Best Regards

I finally sold this house after owning it for about a decade. Moved into a temporary rental that had almost no garage, and since I didn't know if my next place would have a shop I sold a bunch of stuff. Welp... just recently got into the new place and it has a BIGGER shop! Starting from nearly scratch, with the exception of a few toolboxes. Gonna start a new topic!
