a few progress pics of our never ending project(s). 2+2 garage for our Porsche obsession. We expect completion on the garage shell by mid April 2010. After that we'll start to fill it with all my Porsche stuff.

Hey Tone: yea, I'm already getting grief ffrom certain family members about my color choice. My motivation was to get a color that would be compatible with my favorite race team -- Gulf Porsche, which is gulf blue + orange. My Porsche is continental orange so I thought it would also "fit" the look.:). here's a few pics.

When they have their own Porsches and garages, they can go with whatever color scheme they want.

Beautiful car. Are those 17" Fuchs, and -- if so -- whose are they?

Mr Long Hood - the color combo is going to look terrific. You'll need a good pic of Steve McQueen in that garage somewhere.

Milou, if you haven't already, you should start a new thread about your garage. I've seen it elsewhere, and it's incredible.

Mr Long Hood,

That looks great. Is that a billboard? Where or what is that in front of the car? I know it is a picture but..

one of my internet buddies on Pelican Parts (nyne911) did it for me after I saw a posting he'd done with his car (I am photoshop illerate - in fact I just found the wonder of the internet:headscrat
). Basically it's an old, abandoned drive-in movie screen with a superimposed shot from "LeMans" (the movie)

I appreciate the color, most won't 'get it' till they see the car inside the garage.

Looks like it will be a really nice space!

That is freakin' cool. As a poster, it would sell like crazy. I want one!

Awesome. Your choice of the blue and orange contrast between walls and Porsche following the Gulf Porsche colours is first class. The floor and cabinets just set it all off to perfection. The whole building and car reek of timeless class. As much as I like 60's American muscle (Mustangs, Camaro's and 'vettes) there is definitely something about a Porsche isnt there.

btw - McQueen was 'the man' wasnt he
:)

Jeremy, you are indeed a man of vision. I thought no way is that wall color going to work, but the floor really ties everything together. Nice job!

Nice car too.

That looks very cool.:) I really like the floor.

I presume it is not always hot in Tx, have you made any provision for heating & if so, what?

Yup it's always warm in Houston. We built the garage and attic above with foam insulation, which keeps everything pleasant in summer (yet to be really tested) or winter. 80 F is projected for summer in attic. A/C is also being considered and we engineered in that option, though with blow thru ventilation (front & rear garage doors open) and flloor fans, I'm hoping that will keep the heat tolerable.

Looking great, I LOVE the model cabinet...I'm still in process of brainstorming how to make a similar cabinet.

Wow, very nice. I love the color combos, very retro-looking. That floor came out great!! What paint/color did you use for the walls? I was thinking of using a similar color.

Garage turned out AWESOME! I love the full-height white cabinet wall.

Sorry, though, everybody with a clue knows gulf is yellow. Oh wait, that's golf :)
