You may know DATAMP as a great resource for searching for patents on the tools we all love, those Vintage Tools, They are so popular that Lugz has put them in his sticky above.

What you may not know is that DATAMP is a completely volunteer run effort. The Directory of American Tool And Machinery Patents website was all built on volunteer labor, and all the entries, all ** thousand of them, are entered by volunteers. And over the years, since 2002 when DATAMP was started, their volunteers have changed, as they've changed life interests etc., and they are looking for more people to be Data Stewards. Their current list is a bit shorthanded right now, as life changes like moving are being all encompassing (imagine that).

If you have a passion for tools, and old tool research, and maybe an area of special interest, like drills, or wrenches or vised, they would really love to have more hands on board. You can read about their Data Steward role here.

Now do we cue up the Sarah MacLachlan music, or was that to go first, so it played while you read?

Thanks for considering this effort that so many of us use.

Actually, I always liked Sarah MacLachlan's rendition of "O Canada"
much better, but that's just my lousy opinion.

If you manage to find some real oddball, you might get your name (and a photo of your tool) posted on the site.
(You wouldn't want Martin Donnelly to get ALL the credit, would you?) ;)

I got more on my own plate than I can deal with in this lifetime already.

Thanks for posting, RTM
