A Packard electric motor. Packard was a division of GM before Packard made cars - I think.
Edit: From http://www.ohiohistorycentral.org/ - "In 1932, Packard became part of the General Motors Corporation. It eventually became known as Delphi Packard Electric Systems, which still exists today"
Edit 2: From http://history.gmheritagecenter.com "Packard Electric Division joined GM in 1932. In 1999, Packard Electric became a subsidiary of Delphi."
This is the motor that came on my Craftsman 150 Drill Press. The drill press looks like it was made in 66, but I don't think this motor was original, and I think it is older. Anybody know the date ranges on Packard motors?
Model: S7372
HP: 1/3
Volts: 115
Amps: 6.2
RPM: 1750
Thanks,
David
