How many of you own any power tools that have date codes imprinted either on the housing or on the nameplate of the tool itself?

For example, all my Black & Decker tools do, regarding those that were made since 1980. For older tools you'll have to refer to the warranty card included with your product. An example of a date code before then is something like "919" which, in the case of a model 7616 router, means calendar year 1979, week 19.

I know some Sears Craftsman power tools from the '70s and '80s have easy to decipher date codes imprinted on their nameplates, even those machines made by Skil.

For example, on eBay I found a Sears Craftsman 135.112000 (Skil 2305) cordless screwdriver with a date code of R7061, which appears to be March 2, 1987.

Another cordless Sears Craftsman product I found on eBay today was for a model 135.111600 (Skil 2323) cordless 3/8" drill/screwdriver, with a date code of R6223 which translates as August 11, 1986.

And only months ago, I found a model 135.108000 (Skil 576) 7-1/4" circular saw carrying a date code of H2242 which means an August 30, 1982 manufacturing date.
