Date ID for SK 40970 1/4" early pat.#?

Calling all SK gurus. I picked up this ratchet at a yard sale over the weekend along with a couple of Owatanna pullers and a few other "come-in-handy's" for a total of $5. I think it might be pre-Dresser Industries, but I know that someone out there will have a better handle on when it was made. Patent Number is: 1981526. Thanks in advance.

I think it's early 70's, after SK Wayne but before SK Tools .

Thanks Ganymede. I was thinking/hoping it was older because of the Pat.# but couldn't find much info in my research of it.

Yea, for whatever weird reason they continued to stamp the patent #'s on them well into the 70's.
For more (better ) opinions maybe post it in the vintage section.
