This C-Man upper and lower is for sale locally. My brother has shown some interest in it. I can't remember when this box was on the floor in Sears. Kind of a crappy pic from Craigslist.

Should be a "steal" at $75-125 since the paint is even and all the drawers are present. Despite the obvious surroundings, that 80-90's CM is just in the way of progress and needs a new good home storing your tools or as an overflow unit.

The top is a base model/homeowner unit from the '80s or '90s. If you look carefully, you'll see the slots for the external lock bars.

Can't tell on the bottom unit. At best this is a $100 top and bottom in mint condition with the keys and all lock bars, not a dime more in my book.

You can get the old school internal lock bar units for about the same money.

K , I called and offered $85 , He said he was firm at $250 I said no thanks and have a nice day. I didn't even haggle, only even looked at the ad because it was 5 miles away. I'm looking for something for my brother so he'll give me back my red and grey 3 drawer roller

I bought two vintage Craftsmans (real vintage Craftsmans that you've seen on this forum) and cleaned them up for less than that. That's a $100 on a good day for that.

Both of those pieces are the lightweight cheapest models. I doubt that he paid much more than the $250 he's asking. If he bought them on sale, it was probably less.

The one you just posted is also a lightweight but it's certainly worth 40 bucks.

Yep $40 is all I'd pay , I'm trying to get out of this as easy as possible, swap the cheap homeowner version to my brother who's been using my red and gray 3 drawer for awhile. He isn't into anything special it's just for a stand and drawers for a scroll saw. * Update, missed out on it, I was the second caller, the search continues.

My Brother has issues , and is difficult to deal with. So after numerous attempts to bargain, trade or down right buy him a new box . And my only other alternative would more than likely not have a good ending . I give up. And I'll just look for another 3 drawer gray red to complete my older stack. I know it won't be the one my Father bought me, but I can live with that. The search continues on craigslist Ebay and the GJ classifieds

Understanding that your brother has issues but now that we know that your father bought that for you then it holds more sentimental value. I have many tool boxes all each have a story and each has its own value to me. I have one box that was given to me by a dear neighbor that passed away. That's the box that got me started on this whole vintage toolbox trip and one I will never get rid of it and that person wasn't even family. Your in a tough spot.
