Dating a Mohawk A-7 Lift

Have any of you ever sorted out how to decode the serial number on a Mohawk lift?

I found a seemingly complete A-7 on a shelf in the garage.

Call Mohawk and ask them. You have the serial # which they should be able to quickly convert to date of manufacture. 1 Mohawk = 3 of anybody else's lift with respect to build quality.

I just checked the two Mohawks we have at the day job and they both have alphanumeric serial numbers. As suggested above give Mohawk a call and they can get you the information you need.

That US patent was granted on 1985, so maybe your leading 89 is the year made.

Quick Mohawk lift identification needed please

I called the parts dept. at Mohawk this afternoon. The serial number comes back with a 1989 build date.

Holy ****.

Now to find it a new home. Thanks to all for the suggestion.
