I bought this compressor at an auction and learned after purchase it is has a three phase motor. I am trying to find the value of this thing and can not find anything on google etc. Can someone help me with the value as I am thinking of re-selling it. It is a Dayton, 2hp 3 phase 1 stage horizontal. about 30 gallons. Model 32190f. any input would be greatfully appriciatted.

Dayton was usually Grainger's electric motor brand; is the compressor branded Dayton, or Speedaire? Do you have a pic? You don't often see 3 phase compressors that small, and I'm afraid that hurts your value even more. Places that have three phase power are running two stage unites, 80 gal or 120 gal or larger.

Can you not just repower it with a single phase motor? I'm afraid it won't bring much on resale.

Called Grainger, it is the 3z190f model that was discontinued, replaced by the one you mentioned above. Thanks! Looks like a new replacement is 896.00, I am thinking if i could get $250 for it I would be happy, anyone on here interested? I live in South west washington.

I'm thinking if you can get $100 for a small three phase compressor that you can't even demonstrate works you should be happy.

Resale on three phase stuff can be terrible, even for big compressors. But give it a shot, what have you got to lose? Good luck!

The value of that compressor would seem to be the value of the tank and compressor head. If anything, the three phase brings down the value. A real 5hp 3 phase motor in good condition is worth pretty much nothing. You literally almost can't given them away. A 2 HP is worth less than that. I've seen 30 gallons tanks for $30 or less. If I were you, I check into getting a single phase 2 hp motor for it and keep the thing. I'm guessing the other poster's estimate of $100 is about right.

This sounds like a reasonable approach, any ideas as to where to buy one at a reasonable price?
