i came across a compressor that i cant find any specs on. it has the dayton logo on the tank along with a universal air products sticker. under the pump, it has a sticker that says "dayton air compressor model 5z588 3 hp 1 stage" 3 hp 1 phase. it also has a dayton labeled motor. the pump number is 3z897a. the is smaller than the typical 60 gallon tank but is bigger than my powermate 26 gallon. what are the specs on this thing?

3 HP single stage compressors produce about 10 CFM @ 90 PSI

Dayton/Speedaire are typically relabeled Campbell Hausfeld in this size

Always is a broad timeframe. :D

If it was made in the last 40 years its very likely a Campbell Hausfeld.

Pictures of the pump, motor data plate, and tank data plate and pump up times would help ID it further.

There was a time when motor HP was grossly exaggerated. If it works on 120V its probably not even a 3 HP... maybe only a 1-1.5 HP...

This may be your standard 1.5 HP compressor that would take about 5 minutes to fill a 30 gallon tank to 100 psi.
