Anybody have any experience with the Dayton compressor model # 4B230?

Info: 4.5hp Air Compressor
Air Compressor, 26 Gallon, 4.5HP, Code, Oil Lube, 120/240 Volts, 1 Phase, 1 Stage

We have a similar one at work perhaps not that model. What are you trying to find out? Dayton uses the Speedaire brand name on most compressors, that may help you find the info you are searching for.

I'm going to look at it today. It is about 10 years old, bought a Grainger, and has been used very sparingly.

I'll probably buy it unless I notice a major flaw. What are some general things to look for?

Leaks??? See how clean the oil in the pump is... check the filter, that sort of thing. you know, telltale stuff that let's you know how well it was taken care of.

Take an air tool with you and run it on that machine. See how well you like it.....
