This switch just spins, I can't even figure out how to remove it.
Does anyone have experience with these?

Luckily it is stuck in the on position so I can use it, but I would love to make it work as intended.

If it's the one I remember then the switch is integral to the socket. You have to remove the knurled nut and then pull out the socket.
Not sure you can repair it. You might have to find a Edison socket with a twist switch.

That is a very nice switch. I hope you can keep it in service. It would be fun to see photos, if you do take it out/apart.

I have a very old droplight that has a similar looking switch. It toggles side-to-side for on-off. It's spring-loaded and alway returns to the center position.

Yeah it is spring loaded for sure. I am going to mess with it in a few and see if I can get it apart without further damage.

I got it apart and I am still not sure how the switch works. It sure seems like it is all there so maybe there is hope.
