Below is a picture of a relay I just purchased from Graingers.
Apologies for the image quality. I took the pic with my phone, then had to clean it up and make it readable in Paint.
The part # is 5WML6. It's a 24VAC operated off-delay normally open relay. Adjustable from 3 to 60 seconds of delay.
I'm used to dealing with mechanical relays where you can see the innards and figure out what pin goes to what part of the relay. Not so with this gizmo. Plus there's no wiring diagram in the "box" they shipped in.
Here's what I "think" the proper wiring is.
Attach my 24vac power source - common to pole 3, hot to pole 2.
Switched load goes across poles 6 & 7.
Pole 1 is trigger. Apply 24VAC to that pole and the relay will make and connect pins 6 & 7. Remove 24VAC from pole 1 and the time delay cycle starts. When it reaches the end, the relay unmakes and poles 6 & 7 are separated.
Am I right?
