Hey folks I just got a free dayton air compressor. Grainger doesn't seem to carry parts for anymore. anyone have any ideas who to check? mod#3z170b
3hp 3 cylinder, only one cylinder seems to be pumping. Was looking for an overhaul kit, but I can not find much information on the modle I have.

It says single stage. I did see a pump on grainger that was the same model as what is on it 3z170 but no parts listed for it. and the new pump was 649 bucks. for that kind of cash I could buy a new compressor lol.

Take it appart and find the problem(s). Then take the broken parts to Grainger. Many parts are standard off-the-shelf items and can be substituted with current stock from other manufacturers. The local Grainger guys are very helpful in this regard.

If they can't ID the part numbers and cross reference them, then they'll know someone who does.

I've done that with a few old Dayton products and they have always come through

First find out who/when it was manufactured -- the serial number, date and ID tag info should help the guys find more info.

The Speedaire line is made by Campbell Hausfeld. Check out CHPower.com. You may have to call the tech line for this one. They are a good bunch of guys over there, but be prepared to hold for a LONG time before you talk to one of them.
