Daytona Jack Stand

Anybody own or have used the Daytona 22 ton jack stands? Got a nice wide base with strong construction compared to the typical ratchet thinner metal jack stands. The only con would be the weight at approximately 35lb each but it should be trustworthy and looks to be the same version of other brands on the market. Any opinions appreciated. It was on sale last month ITC priced at $150

I feel uncomfortable with just one pin holding the entire weight. I feel more comfortable with the ratchet style, with an additional locking pin.
Not saying one is safer than the other style, just feel more comfortable with some redundancy.

These stands have a 1" steel pin in a double shear configuration. Assuming even downward loading, a basic 1018 steel pin in good condition would probably take like 30+ tons before shearing, meaning the pin in single shear still has roughly 1.5x safety factor in an ideal world. A "high grade" (whatever that means) steel pin would handle even more. That's about as redundant as it gets! The column would probably fail well before the pin.

Ratchet stands, like these, still have no redundancy from buckling failure. Use what you prefer, but I wouldn't loose sleep over well designed and manufactured pin stands. I personally prefer them.

Replace with a different hitch pin if it makes you more comfortable, but these are in double shear. It's going to take a lot for that to fail.

1-1/16" pin. It'll take a lot of weight to shear it.
