Daytona Low Profile 3 Ton Floor Jack - issue?

Just got this jack and put it through its paces in the garage today. Mostly good, but noticed a couple of things:

• With weight on the jack, pushing the handle all the way down parallel to the floor results in a loud click. I couldn't see anything that would cause this. With no weight on the jack it doesn't make the click.
• Lowering the car by opening the valve seems touchy. Open the valve a bit and it starts down slowly. Turn it a bit more and goes down quickly.

Anybody else see anything like this with this jack?

If this is the "Yellow" model, I'd say I developed a bit of a different technique with it when I got it. I can now modulate for speed of lowering.

I can't recall hearing a click (other than the handle being captured)

Did you grease it up when you got it? And did you make sure it was purged?

Good advice. I made sure to purge mine when I first got it. I also greased it. Checking the fluid level won't hurt.
I've had mine for a few years, no issues. It can release quickly, you just have to turn the handle slowly.

But if you don't trust it, return it. Not worth the risk, even if it just damages the car.

The click turned out to be one of the horizontal pivots for the handle. Took a number of tries to see it. Tightening up the nut seems to have taken care of that.
I didn't grease anything since there seemed to be grease liberally applied, but it is probably worth checking that it was applied everywhere needed.
I also didn't purge it, but will do that next.

I wanted one of the green ones. Went to three different HF stores. Everyone (including the one I ordered online) would have the front right wheel sitting higher than the other three. Like the frame was welded up on a bad jig. Checked an orange one in the store and it was better, although it did sit about 1/32-1/16 higher. Once a load is on it, its fine. So I have an orange one now. Makes no sense to me why green ones were bad or worse.
I guess the 8yo working the line the day they made green ones didn’t have the experience the 12 yo had.

I have had zero issues otherwise lifts smooth drops smooth giving it away to a close freind to replace his old silver Pittsburgh low pro 3 ton and going to get the candy red 3 ton also recently purchased the 1.5 ton aluminum for on the go or mobile Jobs works great 30 pounds
