I read the whole Photobucket rant-thread from a couple of years ago--I'm a free user with them but don't like their logo covering my pictures.

I read how to create an album on GJ and did so.

I went back to a previous post where I had a Photobucket-hosted picture and substituted that photo for the same photo that now resides in my GJ Album.

Picture came up very nicely--Great--BUT...

When I click on the pic, the screen goes black like it is going to show you the original pic (full size) only no picture comes up--only blackness with no way to back out except hitting the page-back or reload.

I tried logging out and back in--no effect.
I originally created the album as private but thought that might be the problem, so I went back and made it public--no effect.

Here is the thread--I'm post #31: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428356

What am I doing wrong??

Go into your album, open the picture, below the picture is the BB code. Copy that line and put it directly into your post. Do not use the picture icon.

IMG]https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=4150&pictureid=83147[/IMG

I deleted the opening and ending bracket so you can see the BB code.

leaving the brackets in you get this.

Well now that id did this I find clicking on my picture gives a blank screen; methinks the site has a problem.... Because I think I've done this before?

I just went to another thread that has the same link in it and it will expand there just fine, but not here...something is wonky here.

no neat sig line

930dreamer--The picture is not full size in the post.

larry g--That's exactly how I did it.

All--I played around a little more and found:

1. I tried each of these methods.
a. Copying only the BB code directly into the post;
b. Clicking the "Insert Image" icon and selecting BB;
c. Clicking the "Insert Image" icon and selecting URL.

2. Regardless of which method is used, the identical text appears in the message box in which I am composing the post: IMG]https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=7029&pictureid=95774[/IMG (with the first and last brackets, of course)

This may be the salient point, because why would three different methods all result in the same code?

3. Regardless of which method is used, when the image is clicked, the black overlay appears with no way to escape except page-back or reload.

Conclusion: I agree with larry g: The site has a problem because something is wonky here.
