Ok the question is the Gearwrench 86126 style wrench with one fixed end versus the Mountain Mtnrm6 style wrench. The differences are pretty obvious but is a 65$ difference a no brainer...Thank You

No personal experience, but, I think having one forged box end for breaking free a fastener - plus a ratcheting end for speedy removal - would be the best.
I wouldn't want to try and break free a frozen fastener with a ratcheting box end.

I use my gearwrenchs(edit: they're flex 120xp) more than my mountains due to the fixed end. I don't feel like risking damage to the ratcheting mechanism. I also love the offset on the mountains though, they come in handy sometimes where the gearwrenchs can't. If I didn't own both and had to choose I'd go with the gearwrenchs.

Who knows?
I was facing the same dilemma. I like both sets. (Edit:WHOOPS!!! I thought you were referring to the fixed end sets that are so popular from tooltopia!) I'd go with the GW set you mentioned.

Pro's for the GW style:
Extra long which is perfect for access.
One end is forged. So no worrying about busting the ratcheting end.
Great price if you use the metric/sae bogo on tooltopia.

Cons?
Takes up more room in your box versus the multi-sized Kabo versions.
Doesn't have a flex end.

Pro's for the Kabo style wrenches:
Extra long for access.
Both ends have flex joints.
Both ends ratchet.
Minimal space needed in the box since each wrench has two sizes.

Cons?
You run the risk of busting the ratcheting end since there is no solid fixed end.
Warranty might be more of a possibility too b/c of the above reason.
By the time you buy both the metric and sae versions of these, you are well above the price of the tooltopia bogo price.

If you consider buying both, consider this:

With the money you spent on both sets, you could have just bought Gearwrenches 120XP set of double box wrenches in both metric and sae.

You'd save room in your box vs. having both styles of wrenches you mentioned. You would also have the benefit of the fixed/forged end like the earlier mentioned GW's, but with the added benefit that the ratcheting end has a flex-joint like the Kabos.

That's what I'll be doing once my taxes come back, buying the Gearwrench 120XP double boxed set.

Cheapest place to get them is on Tooldiscounter.com

I've wanted Gearwrench or someone else to make a standard length (not long or xl) wrench with a fixed boxed end on one side with a flex ratcheting boxed end on the other side. I mean how hard can it be to make this wrench. :wtf:
I feel it would be a top seller as open ends have limited applications. I have the long versions in matco and gearwrench trim but, often they are simply too long for some applications. :dunno:

This echoes my thoughts exactly.

I like the long versions, but I agree completely with what you are saying. Sometimes less is more. Ideally I'd have a set of the XL's and a set of "normal" double boxed ends like you are talking about. A set like that would lead to a lot less ratchet use IMO.
