Looking at a new high torque Dewalt impact. This for home use, work on everything from cars, 1 ton trucks and farm equipment. Currently have DCF899 but my mid torque 891 has almost as much power and is my go to for most things. Every once and awhile I need more than the 899 can offer. Being this is GJ both should be on the table but wallet says otherwise. Will be used with 5 or 8AH powerstacks.

I have a DCF961B. It's extremely powerful, but it's fatiguing to carry it around all day. it's really heavy, especially with a battery and 1/2" impact socket on it.

I'm considering a mid torque that's lighter weight for most things.

I have the DCF900 and I've used it on everything from my personal vehicles to zipping off lug nuts off of my compact tractor. Never any trouble getting things loose. (so far)

I've been using it a lot lately as my old Scout II has a **** ton of rusted on fasteners and sometimes it is the only thing in my arsenal that will remove 50 year old fasteners.

I agree with this. It's a good tool to have but unless you're working on big stuff all day, it's better as a backup to a mid torque gun.

Since you have a mid-torque, if you can afford the difference and just want the high-torque for those odd instances that you really need it, the weight might not be as big of an issue.

The Dewalt mid torque is not bad and I use the air IR impact if more is needed.

Ordered a DCF900 late last night. I'll order a 961 if the 900 struggles a few times. I do have an IR air impact, haven't needed much in awhile since going cordless.

I just work on cars but the Milwaukee Mid-Torque, and I'm sure the DeWalt, does everything I need. I have the big and heavy Milwaukee High Torque and it's just to damn heavy for me. I would be far more inclined to buy the new Stubby which with the 5.0 M12 battery goes up to 500 ft-lb. That's more than enough for anything I'll ever see in Phoenix.

my dewalt mid-torque would not break a couple of suspension parts loose on my f150

Do you already have one to remove harmonic balancer bolts? If not, you might consider that.

You might need to change a crank sensor at some point in time.
