What makes the best? I'm sure Snap-on is great but high $$$. Anything out there as good or better for less $$$?

Just remember- those HF hammers are likely made of cheap metal, that could shatter the next time you're hammering something, and set shards of metal into your eyes/head...

No need to worry, the deadblows sold at HF have a complete rubber skin.. Got one i paid 10.00 for when i was in trade school as a machinist and i still use it today 15 years later.

Well USA made is important. Do you want a dead blow(with soft "composite" faces) or a dead blow ball pien?? SK has a dead blwo combo hammer, steel on one side composite on the other. Im thinking about getting that, although ists kidna $$$ for a hammer. The snap ons are, besides being orange, the same as most other dead blow hammers. Armstrong has a nice line of them.

I have the Husky (gray and red) from Home Depot. I'm not sure who really makes it but it's held up well. I don't remember exactly what I paid for it, it's been several years, but I believe it was about $12.
