deal on craftsman air compressor

Does this seem like a good deal? It is a 26 gallon oil less craftsman air compressor, 150 psi, 5.1 cfm at 40 psi, 3.8 cfm at 90 psi and includes 1/2 impact wrench, 3/8 air rachet and hose for $260.

I agree. That's way too high for an oiless unit.

I'd look for an older unit with cast iron pump/oil lubricated. I see them at G-sales all the time for <$100. They'll run quieter and last much longer.

Do not buy the oil less ones from Craftman, they are loud (deafening loud) and not good and those impact/ratchet kits is a gimmick to sucker you into buying, the make of that compressor I have was rebrand from devilbiss ..... actually owned two of them 15 gal horizontal one and 30 gal vertical , them things. Bad purchases if you are looking for air sanding, spray gun, blasting.

1/2 impact wrench have no power, too weak to do anything other than tire changes sometimes don't even break those lugs properly. you will be happier to just get a nitrocat / aircat or ingersoll brand separately.
3/8 air ratchet it's ok but loud. a cordless impact driver with 1/4/ 3/8 adapter would have be better.

yeah what the others have said, oilless = no bueno. If you need "something" right away I would offer what you think the tank, switch, fittings etc. are worth.

Though he could have elaborated on why it's garbage but, I agree. That's way too much money, you'd be better served with an older belt driven unit. Oil less compressors tend to have a shorter life and they are LOUD like you'd never believe.

Ok thanks for the feedback. What about a 10 gallon oil lubed craftsman? It has 135 psi, cfm is 3.7 at 40 psi and 2.4 at 90 psi. It has gotten good reviews. It would be used for inflating, blowing off engine parts, nailer, and occasion impact wrench to rotate tires. I realize the cfm ratings are not great, but it has gotten good reviews and a couple reviewers have said they use it to rotate tires and with professional impact wrenches. I also don't want or need anything real big, as I would like to be able to bring it into the house if need be. I am not going to be running an autobody shop or anything, just want a general garage compressor. Does this sound better?
