Dealing with JC Cayer - Canada

Long time forum reader, but I need some opinions so I signed up. I bought a Milwaukee stubby 1/2" 12V impact kit with 2 batteries from JC Cayer in Canada. One of the batteries is defective. When I read the date codes on the batteries, one was from mid 2018, the defective one is from Jan. 2016 (3 years old). In my attempts to explain the situation, the only response I get is send the battery back at my expense for a warranty replacement.

Fair to say the defective battery was swapped out at some point for the new one that should have been in the kit? I can't imagine Milwaukee ships 3 year old batteries in their kits. Also fair to assume I shouldn't be responsible for return shipping in this case?

What are your thoughts and experiences with this type of situation? Seriously frustrated with their customer service, never encountered this before anywhere.

Just do a search on Cayer there are plenty of threads on this vendor/seller... pretty bad reviews... yet not sure why people still flock to buy from them.

Yeah I'm starting to see that now. Sad thing is I've ordered several tools from them over the years and never had any issues, but I guess I've never had any reason to deal with their customer service either.

Sadly all I can say is sorry....You've just been pulled into a whole new world of customer (dis)service. I'd think you might have better luck with Milwaukee directly if possible.
