I use "The Giant Destroyer" by Atlas Chemical. It looks like a large firecracker, white with red lettering, usually in a four pack on a yellow card.

Essentially, it's a sulfur dioxide gas generator. Be careful when lighting, drop in the hole, and COVER. I've seen the gas come out of other holes as far as 20 feet away. Avoid breathing the gas - if you've ever smelled burning sulfur, you know what I mean.

I usually only need one treatment per year, in the spring, and I'm free of burrowing creatures for the rest of the year.

One of my boundaries is a salmon stream, so I can't use most insecticides. There's so much sulfur already in my yard (and my well) that I figure a little more won't hurt.

do all the methods you want, but a good trap/killing machine is best. i had good success with the spike type traps, but had 2-5 misses for every kill. after much research and attempts at many methods i found this.http://www.themoletrap.com/

it is the best thing since sliced bread. i got 13 in my yard last year with no misses, thats right 0 misses. if i see it up in the air, i know there is a dead 1. my neighbors cheap *** used it and killed 7. this year i havnt seen a mound of dirt yet so i havnt pulled it off the hook in the barn. they are pet friendly also. tractor supply sells them.

I've got three pet cats. They LOVE sitting on the hoods of my cars (which I think I might have solved--mothballs in a dish set on the hood), but other than that, they're pretty good animals.
They aren't inside cats. One was, and has no claws... he just decided to stop using the liter box after four years, so out he went. He's been outside for 6 years and is King of the Neighborhood. He's big, and kicks the asses of the other neighborhood cats regularly.
Half of our 1-acre lot is woods, and the lot next door is empty woods and tall grass. Our little pack of killers keeps us completely rodent free, while others in the neighborhood have moles and gophers. Our clawless cat is our best hunter, and he'd never been outside until he was 4 years old. The other two are pretty good though.
Get a cat, and keep it outside.

GOOD JOB!!!!!

My dog helps me too, but unlike your "watch" dog mine dog will dig up the mound and make me a small hole so all I have to do is stick the hose in and start the engine. Maybe your "watch" dog was watching for any that would try to get away.
:lol_hitti

I'm sure you will be happy with this system, works for me. You may need to treat more often than I do because I have no neighbors, but on the other hand I'm sure your treating your neighbores yard too this will treat 200'-250' of tunel.

So did that plastic pipe get to hot ? I would suggests not to bend that plastic pipe right out of the tail pipe area, keep it as straight as possible until it gets away from the truck a few feet, that should keep it from building up heat.

Hi,

Ok, so I tried this today. Here are some pictures. I ran the exhaust for about 15 minutes per hole. I had the garden hose near by as I didn't know how hot the exhaust would get. Guess time will tell as I then stomped down the mounds and I will watch for new ones and treat again. As usual Pete is just supervising.

My problem is they come in from the neighbors! I spread the grub killer and insecticide - but the 2 houses on either side couldn't give a damn! It's been getting worse every year! I'm gonna have to try this exhaust method!
