alright guys, i’ve been looking at the bahco adjustable wrenches, I have the snap on adjustable wrench and I love it. my only question though, does the bahco jaws have the teeth like the snap on? i’ve been trying to look at the pics and read the description on the different websites but it’s looking like the bahco teeth are smooth, can anyone confirm or deny?

I had a bunch on the bench when I was taking the pics, my bud comes along and out of 8 or 10 picks up that China one and says, man that is a fine wrench. The pile had them all but snap, Proto, Diamond, WF, he picks the China. He isn't a tool snow and doesn't know one from another but I even played that game with others, most pick that one out of 8.
When I have only 1 it's the one I grab on adventures. It's hard to improve something been around so long but they did it. American engineer did it,, they change the screw to 4 turns and widen the jaw on 8 and 12

You would have had to include me in the Proto camp till this came along. The fact it's 1/3 or less in price is a bonus. Bought 4 piece for 20$ from ATD once and as low as 16 on a sale. I don't use a 6 but at that price kids can have them.
I do use some 10 cause I have them but what I carry in a kit is 8 and 12,, 8 a lot,, can do anything I could do 6 and it's got more power.

If you can find a NOS Crescent USA you will be very satisfied. Truth told the new production import Crescent is way better than anything from Harbor Freight.

Easiest USA made adjustable to source at the moment would be a Western Forge Craftsman.

I've got probably two dozen adjustables. The ones I use most are a pair of 10 inch Crescent USA and a old Ridgid 6 inch I got in a box of junk from the flea market.

Another vote for the Channellock branded Irega made in Spain. Excellent quality at a reasonable price. I bought an 8 piece channellock tool roll and it came with the adjustable wrench that I thought I'd never use, but I'm glad it was included because I use it often.

These have quickly become my go-to adjustable. Thought they were gimmicky at first, but the blue grip is quite comfy and the extra wide jaw opening is very handy. Lots of time using an adjustable on the backside of a bolt to hold if from spinning from an impact, nice to be able to handle big sizes with a smaller wrench.

If you have an Ace Hardware near by, you may have good luck finding a new old stock Craftsman USA set that was made by Western Forge. I know most of the Ace stores near me still have them on the shelf collecting dust. They are of excellent quality.

I know mine does, and they have a couple 15" Crescent USA ones as well

The U.S. made Channellocks are good too, if you happen to stumble across a used one

Channellock adjustables are made in Spain now. Last year, when I shopping for a better one, I compared all the brands in Menards, HomeDeopt, and Lowes. Milwaukee is definitely the best in terms of jaw play, because they are made with tighter tolerance, there are more ribs on the adjuster. I ended up getting Knipexes, but may getting a Milwaukee in the future. Milwaukee could be better than tool truck brands due to their design.

Any of the channellock ones made by Irega in Spain. Dont think you'll find better quality for the price

While I prefer older Crescent brand wrenches (those made during a time when men made a living with their tools, and invested in quality), I agree the Irega wrenches are pretty good. In particular I like the large adjustment wheel. The older CM wrenches are also cheap and good, but tend to be overbuilt (too massive) for their respective sizes.

I think I have just about every good brand there is scattered about but I gravitate towards USA Proto, USA crescent and Western Forge/WF rebrands. Another thing for me is once they go over 12” length they HAVE to be tapered handle adjustables. I hate a 24” adjustable with a big wide bulbous handle. It just adds weight, makes the wrench feel awkward and keeps you from slipping a cheater pipe over the handle. I regularly find good old well made USA adjustables for super cheap at fleas and pawns. I just snagged a 10” USA Crescent for $1 at a pawn.
