I have a lot of original Vise-Grips from my fathers collection (retired in '81). I don't have a great need but a couple weeks ago Tekton ran a sale on their locking pliers. I ordered a set with the curved jaw out of curiosity. They were so nice I ordered the other size in that style. Recently I was fabricating a trailer and needed more locking c-clamp type and ordered the mid sized Tekton. Using them along side those pre-80's Vise-Grips was a pleasant surprise.

I know some get sick of hearing about Tekton. But for the price of these things I highly recommend you try a set to see if you like them.

Not U.S. made. Taiwan.

The only non craftsman USA or Vice Grip I have is a curved jaw Black Rhino that I picked up off Cripe Distrubuting. (Which has a ton of NOS licking pliers from Allen, Armstrong, Williams, crescent, etc) despite what you might think, they are all made in China. The black Rhinos were at least Taiwan....
