What do you guys run? I've grabbed and used single DeWalt and Bosch ones, but wouldn't mind a set. Ideally for a good price, lol.

For the money I don't think you will find better bits than Bosch.

Bosch is what I've always used. I have a Bosch SDS Max combi hammer. Just bought a 1/2" drill bit for sill plates expansion bolts. My framer had to cut a few and some didn't align.
I thought the 1/2 bit was expensive compared to a SDS+, but otherwise I had to buy a Bulldog.
It worked out great, drilling in concrete was a breeze! Sometimes Amazon has a bit better pricing than the big box stores on these things.

Bosch has different grades. They make a cheap line that has a thin piece of carbide across the tip, and a better one where on small bits the entire tip is carbide with an X profile, or there are four carbides on larger bits.
Look for the ones that can cut through rebar. They're the best you can get, and easily outlast the cheaper ones.

Correct, they do make 2 flute and 4 flute bits. 4 fljte is obviously more.
Now, i don't know any bit that cut through rebar. Can you post a link? When I've hit rebar the bit and tool just bounce back. You know it when it happens. Drilling through rebar is usually to be avoided. Shift over your hole.

Lowes just clearanced all the Dewalt SDS-plus bits/chisels for 75% off, and a few Bosch. This happened 2 weeks ago, and all my stores are cleaned out now of course. I bought a couple of these Dewalt 5-packs several months ago when Lowe's had them down to $7.49 then. This after owning a SDS drill for the better part of a year, bought on clearance for half.
While looking closer at the bits, all the Dewalt bits are German made. The single bits however are carbide tipped, and a 4-fluted cutting head vs 2 on the 5-pack. I do know most would probably regard Bosch as one of the best. I bought mine based on price, but knew they would be at least decent, not realizing German made at the time. Obviously I don't use them much, but glad I passed on the $20 cheap set from ebay.
I don't anticipate cutting through rebar, but have to imagine that it would be the best you could get. I'm just using them to break up rocks and hopefully set some fence posts for a green house. Going to weld a broken bit to a fence post slug, and probably an outer sleeve to further prevent shrooming.

That's what I've bought in the past, b/c that's what F&F carries. I'm not sure how prices compare to bosch, but I did end up buying an el cheapo kit with eBay bucks just to have a variety for occasional use.
For what a good set costs I think I'd be better of buying as needed.

Sadly, no Lowes really by me. I could use a wide chisel for sure.
I've mostly used a makita for tile and thinset removal.

El cheapo set showed up, busted a solid cinderblock in half at my apartment to hold 2 doors open. Nice!

Pretty much any German COO bits. Milwaukee, Bosch, and Dewalts better bits are German and probably the same manufacturer?
The Tru-Cut USA bits are acceptable too. Menards Masferforce brand for example in the smaller sizes for tapcons/anchors/etc.

I've got both Dewalt and Bosch bits for mine...both work about the same, no complaints. Did break one Dewalt bit (5/16" mind you) the first hole I drilled with it, but they just sent me a replacement and it's been fine since.

I've got a 1/2x12 dewalt bit that drilled 2000+holes on a single job. I think that's a pretty good return on investment.
Bosch makes a damn good sds bit as well.
Most of my chisels are dewalt because that's what the local supply house has.
Got a handful of makita and Milwaukee as well.
The short answer is they all working you buy a major brand.

Yes, it sounds like it. I would agree on the 2k holes. That must have gotten boring, fast. What were you doing, setting up an entire warehouse of pallet racking??
