I have a million screw driving bits. Recently have been needing longer ones more and more, and a typical set like this has 3 3" bits, none of which are what I needed the other day.

Lowe's & HD have a few singles in P2, T25, etc. Not all the sizes I need. I also have a Kreg jig and it uses Sq2 (maybe Sq3 on the HD have to check) so I'm covered there up to 6" but some of what I have been doing is needing recessed torx screws and the recesses aren't always big enough for the bit holders to fit in. 3" and up would be ideal in all common Torx sizes.

Trying not to go the HF route for multiple reasons, not the least which their torx are hollow in those lengths. Any suggestions appreciated.

Same, I used to buy the Milwaukee bits for work (Aircraft mech).

Would get mine from Fastenal since they're an Apex dealer and could also warranty my Armstrong ratchets.

Milwaukee shockwave is cheap and easily available at home depot. Been happy with that balance of price, ease of availability and quality.

I just use a six inch DeWalt extension. Don't have to have two sets of bits. Doesn't work if you can't have more than 1/4" diameter though.

I don't like those little bits ! Too darn short !!

I have had good luck with DeWalt "Impact Ready" bits up to 3". You can find these in a 5 pack cheap on eBay. Above that, I use Wiha from KC Tools.
