Be aware of cordless, I have the CM one that you can get for $18 on sale and I've left it under my truck 2x already:scared: One of them I never found, the second I got the next day, some how it stayed in place. My dad did the same thing. My next one will have a cord on it:thumbup:

You will never beat the Costco snap on lights for the money. If you need something cheap and cordless look at the Capri tools LED light. Other than those two, Milwaukee is the way to go. I have both of the the above and most of the Milwaukee lights too. They are all great.

If you need something really cheap, you can always just buy a cheap drop light and through in an LED bulb. Home Depot is selling small LED stick bulbs that might be good for that. I bought three of them and replaced all the bulbs in my fridge and freezer with them . They come in soft and daylight

They are 760 lumens, not the brightest - but throw in a $10 drop light and for 20 bucks it's a decent alternative.

I've found that most cheap lights are disposable junk. They just don't last. Either the solder joint for the LED breaks, the driver breaks, or the contacts quickly compress and this isn't factoring in drops to the floor which kills them pretty quick.

"Powersmith" offers the same Snap On 2000 lumen light as well as several bigger and smaller versions. They are easier to find for me, got mine at Mills Fleet Farm, and are a bit cheaper where I shop.

I really like the 1400 lumen version.

The harbor freight rechargeable under hood light looks good and I've been thinking about getting that. I have corded fluorescent small handheld from HF and it works fine.
