After going back and forth between epoxy and tiling I think I'm going to go with tiles for my new garage. I'm moving into it end of this month. Garage is a small 3 car which is 32x20. From closing until movers bring stuff in is only 2-3 days. I thought of doing a complete epoxy flooring job but amount of prep work, drying time and application I don't think I'd have enough time. Then garage would be filled up with all my stuff.
Since that may not work I think I will be doing the tiling. How is it for actually working on your car on? I read coin pattern is best for rolling stuff on. Can you use a creeper still easily? How do jacks roll on it? I read for jack stands to put something under them so I would do that.
I also read about putting some gardening cloth or something under the tiles to help lessen noise. How noisy are the tiles when walking on?
I'd be using a jack at first but ceiling is 12' high so I can put a lift in at some point which I plan to do.
I'd love to go with race deck as it seems to be the best but I've seen other good looking made in the U.S. Ones for $2-2.50 and even one for like $1.89 a sf.
Any help, suggestions, feedback etc would be much appreciated.
