Decision on overhead garage door size

Live in the country. Building a pole barn to be used as a garage. Looking at 30' wide by 40 to 50 feet long. Plan on using the length for garage vehicle entrances. We have 2 Ford 150 trucks & 1 Chevy 2500 truck with a pop up bed size camper. Would like to use a garage door opener to park these vehicles.
Also have 4 wheeler, riding mower & 2 bikes. Can anyone help?

Unless those trucks have lifts on them, all three will fit under a standard 7' door. How tall are your walls? Will the door be on the gable end or side walls? My rule of thumb of a shop is have at least one door as tall as your walls allow, which is usually 1' shorter than your wall height. My 40'Wx30'D 10' walls will have one a 10'Wx9'H and a 9'Wx7'H door.

I have 13-4" side walls. This is a shop.....not a garage. I have 2 - 12' x 8' doors. Love the 12' widths.

For my 30x48x10 garage I used 2 10W x 8H doors. For my building style, the max door is 2 ft less than the wall height. On the gable side its whatever you can fit. Yes I can fit all your vehicles in my garage. If you are in the NC area I also know where 2 top of the line 10x8 roll up doors are probably at a very good price.

I wouldn't go with anything less than an 8ft door height.

My last shop had a 16x7' door. My new shop has a 12x12' door. No more short doors for me. I want to be able to back a pickup in with a machine in the bed and have headroom to unload.

I have two 10'x10" doors in my 40x60 building. If I had to do it all over again I would most likely go to a 12' wide door. It would make it easier for backing in trailers or equipment. My doors have Lift Master commercial grade openers on them which is really nice.

8' height minimum. 10' height if you have stuff in the back of a truck. 14' if you want to park an RV.

10' wide is tight for backing trailers in. 12' wide is better.

get the biggest doors you can afford/fit.

Big is good, wide is a lot easier and build wider than 30 ft.

9 feet for my vote, you be able to back the truck in with the camper on the back easy. Makes for easy packin!
