I installed new decking( pressure treated) on my 5x8 utility trailer, and I have a tarp on it until it drys out enough to stain and seal it. It is covered like a covered wagon so the air circulates. Does this need to be pressure washed before applying anything to it? I read it opens the pores in the wood, or is this only for wood that may have a film of dirt on it?

It's a trailer, it will get scuffed up from use.let the wood dry for a week or so in the sun, paint it and don't worry about it until it needs painting again, then re do it.
don't overthink it.

Yeah - I just redecked my trailer with pressure treated. It's currently sitting out in the elements uncovered waiting for the wood to dry enough to stain. In a few months I will pressure wash it and stain it.

I checked mine with a moisture meter and it is at 10-12%. I know it will get scuffed and beat, not a problem, just trying to get it to last longer than 10 yrs.
