deconverting "Garage Room"

I'm restoring the garage space that was lost in a poorly done conversion before I bought the house. I'm originally from the HAMB, a sister site to this one. I'd like to enable the garage to serve as a shop while I build a '29 Ford hot rod.

I want to get off in the right foot with the garage work. That's why I'm here.

I'm a mechanical engineer for a major oil company and love internal combustion engines.
