Decorative Bezel over door glass?

I have searched my city, Googled, and rubber necked garage door business for several years to find some replacement bezels in my two 9 foot wood garage doors. These Bezels are some sort of molded plastic, that are thin and fit over the glass to give it a decorated look, -- mine are called sun burst because the spokes radiate from one corner of the window.

The sun has embrittled these to the point that they are crumbling and repair ability seems problematic considering some of the spokes are missing.

I am not looking for exact replacement, just some thing that eliminates the plain look of the four rectangular glass at the top of the door approximately 18"x49".

I can do some wood work to adapt inexact fits but need something to start with.

I have thought about buying router and making some out of some 1/2" thick material of some sort from a pattern made from the old ones before they are completely gone but would rather by something and be done with it.

Anyone dealt with this? Just looking for ideas.

You'll get a million results with various styles and sizes. If you know the manufacturer of your doors, that might be helpful in narrowing your search.

Now-a-days these are called "grilles". Here is a kit to make your own.

You could also replace the plastic with wood trim and use hot glue or clear caulk to hold it in.

It is amazing (no surprise) what a shift in search terms will do in a google search. Thanks guys, "inserts" and "Grills" changed everything. I am now just narrowing down the results, where as my searches were taking me nowhere.
