Deep e-torx socket set recommendations

I’ve been shopping the last while for a high-ish quality set of deep external torx sockets in 3/8 drive and for whatever reason I can not find any good options. Does anyone out here have any suggestions? I’m in Canada, which limits my options a bit. So far I’ve found some from Titan, ATD, Jet (best I’ve found so far)and the usual Amazon brands, but nothing higher end than that. Snap on has a single E12 deep but that’s it.

The reason I want deep torx sockets is that I work in spaces with limited access and they are slimmer than using a regular length socket+extension.

Thanks!

That looks pretty good, but from the other VIM stuff I’ve handled, the quality hasn’t been super great. (Long torx screw drivers and a 1/4 inch torx swivel set) My Mac dealer does also sell VIM stuff and warranties it, so that’s a good option

I've always been happy with vim stuff. I bought a set of atd etorx for the deep and have been happy with them so far. Etorx aren't something I see breaking and they fit good. Heck, lots of guys just use regular sockets for them. I did a head gasket and timing chain job on a sonic that is almost all etorx and my atd set along with gearwrench universal etorx sockets and vim etorx wrenches and had no issues with any fasteners.

Yeah, looks like the Hazet or VIM is best I can do, too bad it’s not locally available but it is what it is.

Can you get KoKen?

I’m tending to use them as my “go to” for anything vaguely “special” now, and I’m more than happy.

I’ve got some Snap On too, and I’ve used Hazet. Both are also decent. Snap On have got very expensive of late, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy Hazet if you don’t get too ripped off on the price.

I find I don’t buy many sets, but I tend to buy shallow and deep (and maybe universal) in the sizes I do use, as E Torx and bad access sometimes seem to go together. Yes, I’m looking at YOU BMW!B4157500-F1F4-40C7-A83E-AB437ED3BC1E.jpeg

Oh heck yeah, looks like the Koken sockets are 1/3 the price of Hazets and come in a fair range of sizes, excellent!

Go for ’em!

I quite like the Hazet, and I can get most Hazet at reasonable price, but for some reason the Hazet E Torx seem to be very expensive. Probably about twice the price of the KoKen for me in the U.K.

Mine are VIM, 1/4 and 3/8 drive.
OP, make sure you get a 1/4" set to go with your 3/8" set. Think my 1/4" set is just a no name but the bigger sizes in 1/4" drive are a must in certain situations. Think 2ndgear or somebody on here told me about the need and they have come in handy many times when the 3/8" drive wouldnt fit.

E10 is the issue. Should really be 1/4 drive, since they're usually m6 hardware. Bulky 3/8 tooling makes less sense for that size.

if you haven’t already got one, t I think Grey Pneumatic? makes a 1/4 E12 socket that is absolutely great for close quarters work.
