I was on the interweb trying to learn a little about deep well cycle stop valves, as I was looking at photos of various installation jobs I noticed a lot of setups have their main shut off valves before (upstream) the pressure switch, isn't this a bad thing to have?
I would think, if someone closed the shutoff and didn't turn the electric to the pump off, the pump would either burn itself out or burst a pipe when a downstream tap was opened.
