My wife is a country girl. She hunts and all that. I've gone with her a few times, but it's more "her thing" than mine... Anyway, she bagged a doe last night. Normally we hang them up at a friend's garage, they have the pulley systems already set up and all that. But they were having a good season too, and they already had two in there. So we had to hang her doe in my garage. I thought, no biggie right? Throw a rope around the roof beam and pull it up. Yeah right, lol. My back is pulled (unrelated to today), so I'm not moving so well. And we've got this deer on the floor... How can I lift it up... I thought, well, my cherry picker goes kinda high, lets try that. I rolled it over to the deer, tied a nice tight loop around the deer's neck and secured it to the end of the cherry picker boom. I extended the boom all the way out, and pumped it up as high as it would do. All be damned, it got the deer completely off the ground!
So FYI, if you have a cherry picker collecting dust in the corner of your shop like I do, deer hanging is another use for it!
I'd post a picture, but it's kinda gory and I don't want to upset any non-hunters among us.
