Lots of work done. Great place so far! Good job :)

Thanks lockeed. It is an awesome building. Wish it was mine!

The siding is finally complete:rocker:. My part of this project is officially done. I will still be helping the owner with some of the finish work & will be helping him enjoy his new building so I will continue to update this thread.

The drywall finishers still have to texture & paint. That should be done early this week. The electrician did get a few of the exterior fixtures installed yesterday. He will be back next weekend.

Concrete for the driveway & the porch is scheduled for the middle of May.

Today's project is hauling my tools home. I will try to get some pictures while I am there.

Fantastic house and location, wish I had a place like that

If you have more pics from the interior don't be ashamed to show them to us ;)

Here ya go Sunbimmer.
Picture below shows the general work area by the windows & exterior door. Bench will go on the wall to the left of that door. The doorway to the right of the pail goes to an entry type room. Standing in that doorway the bathroom is straight ahead, stairs on the left, & main electrical panel on the right. You can also see one of the two expansion joints in the drywall on the ceiling in this picture.

Doorway behind the ladder in this picture goes to the storage room. Utility sink will go on the wall behind the pail.

From the entry type area looking up the stairs. Closet at the top of the steps. The paint looks bad in this picture but it is nice. Re-sizing the pictures leaves them looking a little funny.

From the top looking down. Bathroom to the left, electrical panel ahead, and shop to the right.

Kitchen cabinets will go on the half wall by the stairs with the fridge to the right of that wall. There will be an island straight back from the half wall and eventually cabinets built into the wall on the right. The attic trusses leave a lot of space available for built ins.

The drywallers did a nice job of finishing the skylight holes. Local building code required the skylights to get the minimum of natural light which is good because it would have been very dark without them.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The main house is about a half mile from the garage thru the woods on a four wheeler trail and about a mile on the road.

Cabinets for the kitchenette & the vanity are here.

We decided to make the island cabinet so we could use a big piece of pine for the top.

Hope to have the finish sprayed on it this week?

You have a local code that specifies minimum natural lighting ? What if you wanted a room with no windows ? :dunno:

Simply beautiful work on the island cabinet, well done and thanks for the update.

Thanks 1/2 Cup!

I don't have the actual wording handy but the local codes do require a minimum of natural lighting for living space. I will see if I can find the actual wording.

Wow, I just find it weird. I mean think of it this way, you want to put in a home theater room and don't want windows to get that cinematic effect.

Strange man, strange. :dunno:

You guys did some great work on this. Hope to see more about the hydronic heat setup. I didn't notice any perimeter insulation or even an expansion joint around the slab. In cold climates that can make in slab heat expensive to run.

Thanks Majordisorder. I don't have any pictures but there is 1/2" foil backed rigid insulation on the inside of all the frost walls.

Some of the concrete poured yesterday. Been out of town so I am not sure when they are going to finish the driveway.

The main trusses are 40' wide. The ceiling height of the room above is 8'-2" and it is 18' wide.

I didn't realize this place was right off the road. I think it needs a flagstone fence out front.

I like the flagstone idea!! The bases for the porch posts will need to be covered with something.....flagstone would be nice there too.
