degrease b4 u electrolysis ????

folks should u degrease the object b4 u run it through electrolysis??

gonna give electrolysis a whirl, want to make sure all d ducks r in a row

I try to get most of the grease and grime off, but it's not really necessary to get it 100% clean. Don't forget, you're putting it in a bath of washing soda, so that'll dissolve a lot of the grease. If there's too much it'll block the reaction where the grease is 'protecting' the rusted surface. It also tends to make a mess in the tank.

I second what spongerich said. Degunk it some but spotless is not essential.
