A friend gave this bench grinder today, can't find any info on it at all! Any idea what I'm working with here?

That's a picture of a motor and has nothing to do with the tool. The electric engines were all interchangeable and I would guess your grinder is belt driven.

Thanks, yea, that was the only part that had any information on it. I didn't know if that was the company that made the grinder or not, but I guess the guy(previous owner of the house my friend bought) just put some random motor on some no name grinder.

Only 730 RPM? Is that for a low speed sharpening wheel? How does this work? You have a belt and pulley setup?

If you look closely, the '1' in '1730' is at the edge of the marking field.....its a common 'four-pole' motor.
