I used to work in a building with a couple of maintenance men. One of them got honest with me and admitted that often he walks around with a cordless drill in his hand because then nobody thought he had nothing to do. Makes sense. If you stroll around a building complex with your hands in your pockets whistling a happy tune, some boss is going to put you to work.
